MERIDIAN Regulatory & Corporate Impact Intelligence — personal research build

Methodology

Truthfulness rules

Meridian never displays synthetic, estimated or placeholder data. A field without a verified source shows an explicit unavailable state and the reason. Every sourced row stores: source key, canonical URL, retrieval timestamp, publication timestamp, immutable raw artifact, SHA-256 content hash and parser version. Derived values are labelled Calculated Metric with formula version.

Value classes

SF Source Fact · CD Company Disclosure · ORF Official Regulatory Fact · CM Calculated Metric · EBI Evidence-Based Inference · UNV Unverified. An inference is never presented as a disclosed fact.

Identity resolution

Deterministic identifiers first (ISIN → LEI within a known query batch, LEI, Swiss UID, CIK). Name normalisation is used only inside a known ISIN batch scope; every acceptance is logged with method, score and review status. Unresolved securities remain visibly unresolved.

Impact scoring (impact-1.1)

Each score is a weighted average of named factors: score = Σ(weight × value) / Σ(weight), value ∈ [0,1]. Factors, weights, values, contributions and explanations are stored per assessment and shown on the match page. Exposure and materiality remain «insufficient evidence» until disclosed figures (segment/geographic revenue) are ingested — they are never guessed. Confidence includes penalties for missing data and counter-evidence. The policy score set v1 (impact-1.1) adds 0-100 sub-scores computed only from real recorded inputs — source_reliability (source category), legal_certainty (legal stage), persistence (documented type+stage heuristic) — plus a triage composite (normalised product of available components; a ranking aid, never a return forecast). market_surprise, adaptability and market_sensitivity stay explicitly unavailable until their real inputs exist.

Linkage layers

L1 direct legal applicability · L2 direct business exposure · L3 indirect exposure · L4 semantic/taxonomy candidates · L5 contradictory/negative evidence. Semantic similarity alone never establishes a material relationship; all matches are review-gated candidates.

Daily price snapshot timing

Prices refresh once daily at 07:30 local time (configurable). Rationale: the official closing price is the reference print used for index levels, fund NAVs and analyst price targets, making it the most comparable single daily figure; and by early morning Central European time the previous session's closes are final in every covered region (European closes from the prior evening, US overnight, Asia just completed). Intraday movement is deliberately not sampled — the Live links (Yahoo/Google Finance) on every security open real-time pages. Each stored price carries its exact capture and market timestamps.

Coverage model

Sources carry one of 14 coverage states (see Source Health). Failures open incidents and alerts; replayed captures are labelled with their capture time; nothing is presented as live without timestamp and provider support.

Data providers & attribution

Meridian aggregates data published by the organisations below. Each stored value names its provider in its provenance chip; this notice acknowledges them collectively, in the spirit of open-data attribution licences (ODC-BY, CC BY and kin). Thank you to every one of them.

Official / public bodies: SIX Swiss Exchange (issuer directory) · GLEIF (LEI reference data, CC0) · Swiss Federal Chancellery — Fedlex · FINMA · Swiss National Bank · SECO · Publications Office of the EU (CELLAR / EUR-Lex, Decision 2011/833/EU) · European Commission FISMA (EU consolidated financial sanctions list) · legislation.gov.uk (Open Government Licence) · UK OFSI · US Office of the Federal Register · US SEC (EDGAR) · US OFAC · Library of Congress (Congress.gov API) · United Nations Security Council (consolidated sanctions list) · Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis («Source: FRED® API — this product uses the FRED® API but is not endorsed or certified by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis») · The World Bank (Open Data indicators, CC BY-4.0 — trade-dependency context series).
